Telford Borough, Montgomery & Bucks Counties is seeking candidates for the Part-Time position of Administrative Secretary who can fulfill the duties outlined in the Job Description below.

Reports To: Borough Manager

Responsibilities:

Answer incoming telephone calls and route messages to the proper individuals or department.

Assist with any walk-in resident inquiry or concern as required.

Support and assist with correspondence for the Borough Manager, Public Works Director, and Building & Zoning Officer.

Assignments directed by Borough Manager will include supporting: Borough Council, associated Board and Commission heads, and full-time staff.

Assist with responses to Right-to-Know Requests as required.

Prepare reports, agendas, and minutes for meetings of Borough Council, Planning Commission, and Zoning & Hearing Board.

Process approved building permits, maintain building permit log, and send copies of approved permits to the proper Assessment Departments.

Process Use & Occupancy applications and schedule U&O inspections for the Building & Zoning Officer.

Process and issue curb/sidewalk permits, solicitation permits, and Tenant/Landlord Act changes.

Process payments for approved permits and water/sewer bills.

Update and maintain the Borough website.

Process and distribute all public and legal notices for newspaper advertisement.

Schedule rentals of Borough buildings and athletic fields.

Schedule final meter readings for water/sewer certifications and prepare final certifications for settlements.

Assist Subdivision and Zoning/Hearing Board applicants with questions regarding their application.

Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Borough Manager.

Qualifications:

3+ years experience in a related field. Preference will be given to any candidate with experience in the public sector, local, and municipal government.

High School Diploma required.

A.A. Degree in Communications, Marketing, and/or Business Administration strongly desired.

B.A. / B.S. Degree in Business Administration highly preferred.

United States Citizen or has been issued an Employment Authorization Document (EAD).

Skills:

Superior customer service skills is a must.

Proficiency working within the MS Office suite of products.

Adept with basic finance and accounting tools i.e. QuickBooks.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to identify areas of improvement.

PA Notary Certification highly desired.

Screening and Clearances:

PA State Police Criminal Record

Federal Criminal History Record Check (fingerprinting based on background check).

Drug and alcohol pre-employment screening.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
