The Telford Borough Council meeting held this date was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President J. Allen Landis with the following members in attendance: Carolyn Crouthamel, Robert Baker, Scott Hillegass, Stanley Nyce, James Schaeffer and Jeffrey Maxwell. Also present were Manager Mark Fournier, Public Works Director Gary Yoder, Solicitor Mark Weand, Mayor David Snook, Recording Secretary Diane Windfelder, and Police Chief Randall Floyd. In the audience were Tax Collector Emiline Weiss and Jay Stover, and a press reporter.

 

The invocation was given by Councilmember Jeffrey Maxwell, followed by the pledge of allegiance.

 

SWEARING IN OF NEW CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEMBER:

Mayor David Snook swore in Douglas Bickel to the Civil Service Commission for a six-year term expiring January 2020.

 

AWARD PRESENTATIONS:

Chief Randall Floyd presented Officer Robert Seville with the Community Service award for dedicating his time at the Boys and Girl Club in Souderton.

 

Chief Randall Floyd presented Officer Kyle Heffernan with an Educational Award for receiving his Bachelor’s Degree.

 

Chief Randall Floyd presented Gladys Gradel with the Employee of the year award.

 

Chief Randall Floyd presented Officer David Bechtel with a perfect attendance certificate for the year 2013.

A Hillegass/Crouthamel motion carried unanimously (7-0) approving the minutes of the February 10, 2014 Borough Council meeting.

Jay R. Stover reported that the Indian Valley Library has not received anything from Upper Salford Township regarding funding and they will be having a meeting on March 31st to discuss Upper Salford Township’s future in the Library and the possibility of their residents not being allowed to use the library.

PS-1     Resolution for Signature of Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) Program Project Funding Agreement – Individual Projects.

            A Nyce / Schaeffer motion carried unanimously (7-0) authorizing J. Allen Landis to enter into a contract on behalf of Telford Borough with ARLE program to receiving funding for new LED traffic signals and controllers for Main Street and Church Road, and Main Street and Reliance Road. This grant from PennDOT totaled $183,560.

 

DEVELOPMENT & CULTURE COMMITTEE: There was nothing to report at this time.

 

OTHER BUSINESS: None
